7 More ipad & iPhone apps I use

Here are another seven apps I really like and use constantly.  Some are free and some are at a cost from .99 to close to $5.  Let me know what apps you are using.

Notabilitymainimage

Notability is only on iPad and is my newest app and I must say for the price of .99 I am floored how good this app is.  I have tried several note apps such as Audiotorium which I was very much impressed with as it has decent recording capability (better than Evernote) and the ability to type text while recording.  But Notability beats Audiotorium and Evernote all together.  With Notability you can type notes while recording with the ability to tap anywhere in your text later while playing back your recording and instantly the recording moves in sync with your notes.  Need to sketch?  Even better is the apps sketching ability that it well exceeds my previous favorite Penultimate.  You can pick different colors, line sizes and or use as a highlighter.  Import a photo, make a note box and more them while text adjusts.  Open a PDF mark it up or highlight it and email it back as a PDF.  When you are done send your note as a PDF or share through DropBox.  Notability has virtually replaced  more than one app.

Dropbox_logo
Speaking of DropBox.  This is a free service up to 5GB of space then after that there is a cost. It is basically a Web Based backup storage service (in the Cloud) that enables you to store, share and download files of all types.  Several apps work with DropBox for easy and automatic storage between your computer and portable devices.

Starbucks-iphone
I like my coffee like the next person and since I am always on the go use my Starbucks app on my iPhone.  I can charge up my Starbucks Gold Card account then use my app to pay for my coffee, find a store, make note of my special drinks and keep up on my rewards.

Wikibot_wikipedia_reader_app_f
Wikipedia is an web-based encyclopedia that is updated by the people that use it.  That's you and me.  Well, it's me for sure.  I use it regularly to learn about all types of subjects that catch my interest.  This app allows you to search Wikipedia directly without using your browser.  You can bookmark topics and every article you look up is stored on your iPad for offline reading.

20371_icon
This app has a small price but allows you to read and copy document in the most used formats from your iPad, iPhone or iPad Touch and take them with you.

New_photogene_icon
This is an incredible photo editing app for both iPad and iPhone or iPod Touch. It makes photography editing a breeze and fun.  It has tools to adjust the exposure, add filters, crop and more.  Small pice for all the uses.

Colorsplashicon_onwhite
This has to be one of my most favorite photo apps for both iPhone and iPad.  Use this app converts your color photo to grey but then using your finger to replace the color where you want it.  The attached photo is an actual rose at the Balboa Park Rose Garden.  While there I took the photo, downloaded Color Splash and removed the color from the leaves in the background leaving the rose full of color.

Immigration: Law without Mercy

Known as the Statue of Liberty poem, New Colossus and its famous last lines have become part of American history. The photo of the plaque that is at the base of the Statue of Liberty is seen above:

New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Jesus

Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

To start I am the grandson of immigrants.  My wife is the daughter of immigrants. Honestly, how many of you look back into your past and see that you are the descendent of immigrants?   Unless you are a pure blooded descendent of an American Indian tribe you are the descendant of immigrants.  So why is immigration an issue in this country?  You know it will once again be brought to the forefront of our conscientiousness through the rhetoric of politicians in this coming election year.  Illegal immigrants have become the "scape goat" of people's woes.  If it could be so simple.  They are "law breakers!"  But can a Law be unjust and even unrighteous?

The Pharisees held to the law.  So much so that when a man was healed by Jesus they persecuted him with the healed man for being healing on the Sabbath.  The day established by God as a day of rest for man was turned into a day burden by the religious leaders of the time.  Can a law be unjust?  Let me share one story.
The story is about a husband and father who is an American citizen and the children who were born in the USA, therefore are also American citizens.  The youngest daughter was born with a debilitating decease that causes great pain and handicap resulting in numerous medical needs and hinders any mobility except to the hospital.  Added to the already challenging situation is that her mother was deported and taken away from her.  The child's emotional pain can only be imagined.
Where is mercy?  Where is compassion?  While the right of the Law is being enforced against the mother the rights of the child are being disregarded and violated.  Does not a child have the right as an American Citizen to have her mother in her life to care for her?  Does she not have inalienable rights as given by our creator.  Have the Law makers become so callous and unmerciful that they're hearts have no compassion for the child, her liberty and her happiness?  Such treatment in a country of immigrants is not only an injustice but is immoral.  But even worse is when Christians chime in with the politicians for the law to be enforced because "it is LAW" even at the cost of mercy and compassion.  When Christians have lost a heart of mercy and compassion and respond as pharisees they have lost their way.

7 Great iPad & iPhone Apps

I view apps from being an Apple MAC user since 1986, two years after the first MAC was released with that very progressive MAC commercial. Are they intuitive, are they elegant, do they promote productivity and are they fun?  So here are some of the best apps that fit all these requisites.

Evernote

EVERNOTE  is a free multi-tasking note app that easily syncronizes between iPhone (smartphone), iPad (tablet) and my MacBook Pro (laptop computer).  You can use for notes, recording meetings, add photo or insert a webpage or any other document for later reference or reading.  You can add tags to the note, save in a designated folder and email to others.  The only drawbacks are ads that are eliminated with the purchase app and notes are not visible when offline.

2do

2Do is a purchased app and well worth it.  You have a varity of options when creating a a todo list of any type.  Tabs that enable you to quickly look at the tasks relating to the differnt parts of your life.  Ability to attach map, phone number, catagory, email and more.  What is also cool is the ability to sync with it on my iPad via my DropBox account.

Tripadvisor-member-email-addresses-stolen

TripAdvisor  Is a wonderful app if you are regularly on the road or traveling to anywhere adn I mean anywhere.  it gives a great varity of places to see, eat or stay by inputing a city or zip code or just use the button to find your current location.  There are more than enough reviews of the places you seek with maps and other information.  You can also give reviews as well.  I even used in Japan.  This app is free.

Pw_1password_508

1Password is a must if you have multiple websites you have to log into with an ID and password.  The best security is to use diverse passwords that include random numbers with upper and lower case letters and no one password the same.  But keeping track of them is a nightmare.  1Password keeps track of your passwords and intigrates with your browser.  You use one memorable and secure password to open the app to unlock access to all other passwords.  The apps for iPhone and iPad are free but the main software is priced of $24.99 but you can try it out first for 30 days free.

Biblereader12

If you travel regularly Kayak is priceless and is free.  The apps work with the website kayack.com that is a search engine for travel fares.  It searches all the airlines and the travel sites such as Travelocity and Expedia all at the same time so you can compare in one view rather than going to each individual site.  They also have an app for keeping track of your flight status.

Kayak

Olive Tree's Bible Reader is excellent and is available for the MAC computer.  I realy like the design and ease of use.  The KJV and other versions are free but commentaties and other Bible Versions will cost you.  I have tried a lot of Bible apps and this one I love.

Skype

Can't say enough about Skype .  This app is free to use to talk, text and video call between computers and mobile devises.  It costs when you want to take further advantage of their service to make computer to land line or cell phone calls.  it works across town or across the world and the quality is tough to beat.  It is a great way to see the grandkids from a distance.

We Are Creative By Design

Img_1092

Sunset sky at Lake Havasu

We have the most creative designer Father in the universe. We have been made after his image. So be creative, be a designer! Not for creativity's sake but for the LORD. He was creative for a purpose so likewise be creative for a purpose, to glorify Him, to reveal Him, to teach about Him, and to honor Him.
Here are some reasons why people in general are not creative.
1. Fear. Fear of failing is a number one cause why people are not creative.
2. Perspective. Not seeing yourself as creative or as a designer.
3. Laziness. It is easier to just follow the status quo and never ask the question, "Is there a better way?"
4. Priorities. Got to make time to create.
5. Lost our child like wonder of life. Children are the most creative people.
Realize, God designed, created, found it satisfying ("It is good") then rested. There is immense satisfaction in design and creation. I believe we are meant to create and design as it is part of our communication. When done with and for the Lord it has a greater meaning and so brings with it a deep satisfaction and peace. But even more important it can touch and effect the lives of others for Christ.
Start with something you already enjoy. Is it worship? Then write a song. You like reading? Write a book. You like organizing? Then create a church program. Yes, this is creative too. You like using your video camer? Then produce a movie. You say, "But I'm not gifted." Let me quote from Pixar's Ratatouille, "Anyone can cook."
Oh yeah! Excuse #6. "I can't be like those who are great so I won't even try." Wrong expectations. I haven't even hinted that you are to be great but to simply follow your Heavenly Father's lead to design, create, be satisfied and rest. It's not vanity when the Lord is in it. The church claims God as designer and creator so imitate Him.

Jesus Keeps it Simple

Photo

Jesus taught with an emphasis on simple. When I say simple I do not mean simple minded but simple in the sense of strait forward and direct, clear and precise. While the Pharisees encumbered the view and approach TI god by laws and traditions Jesus presented the truth at the lowest on denominator. Be like a child and enter heaven. Matthew 18:2-4 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Love God & Love others Matthew 22:37-40. Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

Want to be first? Be a servant of all.
Mark 9:35 And He sat down, called the twelve, and said to them, If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all. Love me? Feed my sheep.
John 21:15 So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord; You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs.

Lose your life to find it. Matthew 10:39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.

You See Me . . . You See The Father
John 14:9 ... He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, Show us the Father?

I'm Going To Come Again
John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

It is finished

Windows-7-wallpaper---number-7
